Just when we thought it was all over about this daughter of the soil. Well she is back and is on her winning trail again. There is no stopping this time. Unless people come up with different stories now she is going to rule the wolrd.
She is a darling of our country. Let us now forget about the blunders done by ASA and IAAF and let this girl show them how it is done on the track.
All the best. Let her be our iconic figure!

I am writing this to you on behalf on myself, and my husband John Ackermann who is an OD. We saw the piece in the O.D. magazine about your Guguletu Athelitic Club, and were most impressed with what you are doing. We have been in the USA for 40 years, and returned to S.A. for many years until my husbands mother died at 100 in Cape Town. We have 5 grandchildren here in the US., ALL of whom are very involved in sports. The girls in track, & soccer, and Jake in baseball, basketball, and football, also he is a good little golfer. Unlike the children that you are involved with, they have all the advantages that a good education etc can give them………..therefore we would like to make a donation to your club to help with shoes, jerserys, and anything else that you feel is necessary.

I was not able to find on your web-site anywhere that I might be able to send a monetary donation ?? If you would be kind enough to send me the information re your club bank account and routing #, I could then make a direct deposit into it. I know that this must seem odd, but you can check us out through Brian de Kock, as he and John were in the same class together, and he is aware of us being in the US.

We both wish you the best of luck in your endeavour, and hope to hear back from you.

                           Sincerely,

                             John & Liz Ackermann

Here is a tip to spending this coming Saturday!!

Past weekend saw the culmination of yet another exciting cross country season. Our athletes did not disappoint yet again. We came up with lots of medals yet again.

Four of our athletes viz: Goodman Mpukane, Asiphe Skabahanjana, Evelyn Tshabalala and Luxolo Mdzanga were yet again chosen to represent WPA in the upcoming SA Champs to be held on the 11th September.

All the best to all of them. Here are some of the other athletes who made this season an exciting one too with their personal achievements:

Tyshia

, Mandla Fikelele, Stanley Malange, Zolani Sowazi,Terence and off course everyone else who took part.

People cross country and track events need to support by all of us. These are good family times.

I hope to see many of you next year!!!

Keep them coming..

If you did n’t know we are in the second half of the year now. Have you achieved any of your PB? Did you run any of those races you had hoped to run this year? Are you still reminiscing about ever starting to run again? Well I have no better solution than the one you already know and that is start putting on those running shoes and get back on the road.

In case you have not noticed Caster Semenya is becoming yet again the face of running in Mzantsi. Who were they telling someone that she is not a woman, what an insult. You know Chuene and the guys have dispaeared from the picture but it seems as if no progress is being made in the ASA circle, does anyone know anything?

We recently hosted a fun in Langa on 11th July, I tell you this event promises to be a major crowd puller next year. It just needs more marketing from us.

Last but not least I know everyone is talking about this so-called xenophobic attacks, these are not so but just some criminal elements exploiting the situation. I have we could all stand against any form of such acts.

Well folks do send us interesting news for our site as we would like to make this this as interactive as possible.

Until next time.

Keep them rolling guys and dolls.

From the ever smiling thobs.

As you all know that our was involved in some fun raiser to sell tickets for U20 soccer festival at the new Greenpoint Stadium. Well I just like to take this opportunity thanking all those who heeded our call and supported this initiative. It is initiatives like these that can help us raise our own funds. It also teaches us to self reliant.

People came in droves. They were clad in their different gears. It was so amazing to see how little support was given to our local lads compared to the arousing support the Brazilians got — unpatriotic bunch of supporters. Anyway I am sure that everyone who was there surely did enjoy themselves as depicted in some of these pictures below.

I just like to take this opportunity to everyone who took part in Two Oceans events starting from pitching up the tent to those like myself who did not get to finish the course. It is really a testing distance. I am glad to say we had an outstanding turn this year and I hoping that next year we will go even further by doubling the numbers. I know we can.

Everyone was marvellous from the supporters from club and those who managed to teir personal best. By shinning at events like these not only advertise and promote our brand but it shows how much interest there is in our club. We are no longer one of those smaller clubs anymore we are a force to be reckon with.

Congratulations to all.
