Ommiedraai Awards on 25th January

Ommiedraai Club held its annual prizegiving ceremony recently in Philipi. This glittering event was one of its kind. Myself and the top runner Nyaniso Qwesha were fortunate to be representing Gugs.

We thoroughly enjoyed the food and entertaiment as well. As a chairperson …

What they do

At times I think our athletes are not photo shy as you can see in most of these pictures. They like to pose for the lensman at every opportunity they get.
So if you would love to have your pic splashed out in these pages then smile when you see me and you must just find yourself here.

What drives Jimmy Adonis!!

We were wondering why was Jimmy at every race and this is what he had to say…………
I was asked why I run every race.
The reason why you see me at most, if not all, the races is that I am a member of Mille Miglia.Mille Miglia is a thousand miler club, comprising of members from athletic clubs in the western province.[Gugs have four representatives]
The goal is to cover a thousand miles [1609 km] within a year. Should you not reach a thousand miles you  still get acknowledgement for what …

WPA hosted African Cross Country Champs!!

Recently our province played host to the cream of Africa’s best in running. For the first time we hosted these sons and daughters of this beautiful land right here in Mzantsi.
We got to witness how the Kenyans have come to be known the kings of running. These athletes know what to do when they are on the track. They did not disappoint and they lived up to that standard!
Our club played host to our neighbours Zimbabwe and Madagasca. Seen in these pics are those athletes who braced our shores.
Not forgetting …
