Since 2008 our club added a fun run to our annual Reconciliation Day Race that takes place on the 16 December. The idea for this is to raise funds to give back to any community grouping that seeks to help with communiy upliftment. We have since worked with JL Zwane’s IYZA that helps needy kids.

Last year again we managed to raise awareness about this event and the responce we got from the public was overwhelming. This I believe we can make it to a big success in the coming years as more and more are made aware of it. We want to raise more funds and we are also appealing to anyone who may have access to funds or work within a company that can help make a difference to use us as the vehicle in that regard.

We will be involved in community matters in one way or the other as this is were the bulk of our runners come from and also were we want to be seen not only as a running club but also a community based club.

So we are happy to say that for the two years running we have made a difference to someone’slife out there. Thanks to the members of the club who were involved in all the plans for the race.

We hope that this year we will make a bigger difference.
