The annual gun run was held in Sea Point recently and I have to tell you the turn out of the athletes was not disappointing as usual. I am not sure if it me or something but it seems as if in every race that takes Gugs colours always shines.

I am very encouraged by number of people who turn up for all the races. At the gun our athletes again ran good times especially in 21km where I can just mention these athletes Luxolo Mdzanga, Elliot Mangethe,Simphiwe Gceba, Brian Peteni, Zolani Sowazi, Mandla Fikelele and many others.

It is not a norm that we would allow our juniors to take part in an event above 15km but since this was a championship event we allowed Luxolo to take part. He did not disappoint as he came 5th overall thus becoming the 1st junior. This performance allowed him to conquer his gold medal in a championship.

Well done and may he get many more.
